Bike Festival/Bike to School

BIKE FESTIVAL AT TYRRELL ELEMENTARY!

Tyrrell students and families received free bike repairs from the BikeMobile to get their bikes ready to ride to school.  In addition, students were spinning the Trivia Wheel and blending delicious smoothies with a bike!  Our festival was visited by the Kaiser Permanente Safety Mascot, Super Weevil, and Mayor Sweeney!  Many participated in the popular tricycle races and learned about bike safety from Hayward Police Officers (on thier bikes!).
Thank you to the following for making our event a success:  Safe Routes to School, Kaiser Permanente-Educational Theatre, Alameda County BikeMobile, Hayward Police Department

BIKE TO SCHOOL DAY AT TYRRELL!

Students, staff, and families were greeted during Bike to School Day by Safe Routes to School staff and student leaders.  In addition, HPD bike patrol were also on their bikes encouraging/participating in the event.

Tyrrell conducted its first Bike to School day last May (2013).  Since then, we have enjoyed ongoing Bike to School Days/Walk and Roll to School Days (weather permitting).  We have appreciated the opportunity to encourage safety and healthy choices to further promote learning for our students.

All students entering 7th grade will need proof of an adolescent whooping cough booster shot (Tdap) BEFORE starting school.

Todos los estudiantes que ingresan al 7˚ grado necesitarán un comprobante de la vacuna de refuerzo contra la tos ferina para adolescentes (Tdap) ANTES de comenzar la escuela.
